LEADERS Valley continue to have the destination of the Grandon’s Toyota Second Division championship in their own hands after seeing off the challenge of in-form ePower East Cork at Conna Community Centre last Saturday afternooon.
The hosts took a 3rd minute lead when Tom Hartnett’s inviting corner to the near post was headed in by Conor Hickey.
The visitors drew level inside two and a half minutes following a break down the left by Kaelem Hennessy whose cross to the far post was side footed past Jayden O’Connor by Ryan Sexton.
On the half hour Hartnett did well to slip his marker and cross for Cian Ivory to knock the ball down for Ben O’Connor to lash in from five yards. Six Minutes later John Noonan headed a third before Ryan reduced the deficit in the 65th minute.
Subs Dylan Carroll and Cian Doyle combined for the latter to restore Valley’s two goal advantage in the 89th minute.

DCT kept in touch with leaders Valley Rangers after an emphatic win over Pfizer at Camden.
A first half hat-trick from Robbie Burke after Kevin Maguire gave the visitors a 4th minute lead was followed by second half goals from Nikita Zigunovs (3), Cameron McIndoe, Luke O’Sullivan, Neil Hurley, Matthew Field and Ronan Lawlor.

In an entertaining contest at Mayfield Park last Friday night, Celtic’s Luke Kiely and Tigers’s Keith O’Callaghan shared goals within the opening twenty minutes.
A Patrick Brophy double along with another from Brian O’Neill stretched the visitor’s lead to 4-1 before Kevin O’Mahony reduced the deficit with fifteen minutes remaining.

Fourth place ASH kept their promotion hopes alive with a hard fought win over Council at the Mayfield Park last Saturday afternoon.
After Council’s Cian Power cancelled out Bryan Goulding 9th minute opener for the hosts on the half hour, Aaron Keohane pounced in a crowded area with his 19th of the season to net the winner after being played in by Emmanuel O’Neal.

Unbeaten Celtic were confirmed champions after sealing the point they needed after first half goals from Yago Camargo Noguiera, Stephen Folasade and Ryan Constant outscored Trust’s goals in each half from Daniel Fernandez (penalty) and Daniel Jaouhari.
The visitors have still two matches to play and it would be some feat to remain unbeaten, one of only two teams to do so in the history of the division.
Congratulations are extended to the squad and the management team of James Corcoran and Eoghan Daly.

The Vale picked up a welcome home win at Mayfield Park last Sunday afternoon after the departing Ukrainian winger Oleksandr Topolnytskyi gave the hosts a 15th lead following a neat finish from close range at the far post.
Dylan Cruise was quickest to react to a loose ball in the area when he equalized seven minutes later only for an excellent Luke Dennehy cross to the far post was neatly touched into the path of Corey Harris by Topolnytski for the former to blast the hosts in front for a second time.
Despite Tyrese Raheem heading Rovers level early in the second half, Harris rolled in a neat second from close range before a lightening break by Dennehy resulted with a clinical finish past the stranded Dean Cummins to seal the points in added time.
