A goal in each half from Ben O’Doherty and Ciaran Pitterino were enough for The Weigh Inn Dripsey through to the last eight of the CBL Shield at The Regional Park last Sunday morning.

Suro Cars 7 

OBS 1

Goals from Ken O’Brien (2) and Callan Dempsey put the visitors three up by the 36th minute. 

After Sean Blake struck back for OBS four minutes later second-half goals from Dempsey (2), Colm Daly and Fintan Cadogan sealed an emphatic win for the hosts.

CBL Second Division: 

Neuro 3 

AL Ukraine 2

Ukraine’s Dmytro Bielan (2) and Stryker’s Stephen Blee and Andrew Hayes had all scored by the 27th minute leaving Brian Lawless to score the winner four minutes later.

Fisherman’s Rest Valley Rangers 6 

Curry House Hungry Tigers 1

Sean Armstrong’s 8th minute lead for the Tigers was quickly cancelled by Kieran Kelleher and added to by Eoin Doyle (4) and John Noonan.

Stryker Macroom 1 

Cork County Council 5

Council picked up their second win in three with Gregorz Sienicki (2), Mohammed Alhajri, Saif Abu Saad and Rob Susek (pen.) on target for the winners. 

Jack Walsh had earlier cancelled out Alhajri’s opener for Stryker.

Pfizer FC 4 

DCT FC 5 

DCT went top for the first time following a nine goal thriller with Pfizer FC. After Sean Buckley had opened the scoring for the visitors, goals from Sean O’Leary (2) and Glen Sexton put Pfizer three-one at the break. 

On the resumption, Michael Mitchell (2) and Steven O’Mahony turned the game in the visitors. 

Despite Rian Tempany scoring twice for Pfizer, further goals Nathan O’Donnell and Anthony Doran (pen.) kept DCT’s advantage to the finish.

CBL Premier Division:

Swyft 6 

Healy O’Connor Solicitors 2

Leaders Swyft made it two out of two following a blistering second-half performance at Mayfield Community School. 

Adam Cambridge sent top scorer John Corcoran through for the lead for Swyft on ten minutes before John McLoughlin equalized for Healy’s five minutes later. 

Rob Twomey’s haft-time team talk was instrumental in Dale Dalton, Thomas McGrath (pen.) and the man of the moment John Corcoran adding further goals before Shane Murphy reduced the deficit late on. 

Corcoran has now scored three consecutive hat-tricks and four in all bringing his total for the season to sixteen in six matches. 

He remains on course to smash Jamie Murphy’s all time record of sixty-three which he achieved last season.

Helio Inter Cork 1 

Andy Sull’s Hair 0

Joao Martins scored the decisive goal for Helio on the stroke of half-time to seal a crucial three points.

CBL First Division:

Croatia Fermoy G & G 0

The visitors put an understrength Croatia to the sword with James Corcoran (3), Alan O’Driscoll (2) Ciarán Taylor, Tomás Sheehan, Ross Malone, Aaron Cooney, Eoin Byrne and Kelvin Forde all among the goals.

Blarney United 3 

Cork Hospitals 2

Cork Hospitals travelled to O’Shea Park and quickly got down to business by taking a 24th minute lead courtesy of Cathal Murphy. 

The lead lasted until the 56th minute when Flynn O’Mahony equalized for Blarney. Zach Porter set up Sean McCarthy for United’s second nine minutes later only for Murphy to level with seventeen minutes remaining. 

McCarthy broke the Hospitals’ resolve with the winner in the 89th minute.

Rockmount 6

EVcore were well in the contest after Billy Tabb and Mark Hourigan had exchanged goals with Rockmount’s Daniel Blake and Cian O’Donovan in the ninety. 

However, the hosts capitalized in extra-time to score four unanswered goals through O’Donovan (2), John McSweeney and Eddie Virgo.

Douglas Hall 4 

ISF Ballyphehane Celtic 4

(Douglas Hall won 3-0 on pens.)

Two goals from Jamie Thompson and Mohamed Vangahun inside a three minute spell got Celtic off to the perfect start. 

However, the Hall’s response was immediate as goals from Ryan Kelleher and Chris Murphy levelled the tie. 

A Sean Moynihan penalty in the 81st minute set up a frantic finish which resulted in Harry Flanagan equalizing four minutes later. 

Once again Thompsom nudged Celtic ahead in the 97th minute but Evan O’Sullivan broke Celtic’s hearts again with a quick fire response for the Hall. The hosts held their nerve to advance in the shoot-out.

Cork AUL 1990 FAI Junior Cup quarter-finalists Hibernians went three in front through Alan Walsh, Philip Brady and Ryan McCarthy before Liam Hewitt got Satellite off the mark with in the 72nd minute.

Ballincollig 5 

Sabor Brazil Giants 0

Ballincollig had too much for a gallant Sabor who could not match the clinical scoring of the home team’s Mark O’Keeffe (2) , Stephen Murray, David McSweeney and Eoghan Ryan.

Dunmanway Town 3 

DHF Grangevale 0

Despite conceding a 16th minute opener to Mickey O’Mahony and losing two further goals late on to Will Hennigan and Oran McCarthy, Grangevale done everything but score in an entertaining tie at the Meadows.
