Premier League sides Manchester United and Leeds United are set to face each other in a pre-season friendly at Croke Park in August.

When the game was announced it was expected it would take place at the Aviva Stadium.

However, it now looks like the game is set for Croke Park on Wednesday, August 12th.

The news was first reported by the Irish Independent.

The World Cup takes place in the US, Canada and Mexico this summer so the start of the Premier League season has been pushed back to August 22nd.

Meanwhile, the GAA season will finish at the end of July.

United last played in Dublin in a friendly against Athletic Bilbao at the Aviva Stadium in 2023. In 2010, United faced a League of Ireland XI at the Aviva.

The Athletic also report that the game is set to be staged at Croke Park.

The 82,000 capacity stadium is massive for a friendly game, but both Man United and Leeds have huge followings in Ireland.

It would also be an historic occasion as only the second soccer game to take place at GAA HQ. The Republic of Ireland played France in a World Cup playoff at Croke Park in 2009, a game that finished in a 1-0 defeat for the Boys in Green.
