St Finbarr’s Hurling and Football Club will hold their annual golf classic on Friday, July 19, at Monkstown Golf Club.

The format is a three-person stableford team event and the cost per team is €250, including a meal.

To make it interesting they will also have a number of additional challenges, including nearest the pin on hole 13 and longest drive on hole 14, with prizes for the winners of each of these competitions.

Title sponsor for this annual event is Hegarty Financial Management, a company led by former player and administrator Jim Hegarty.

A spokesperson for the club said they are a leader in national terms in financial advice and related matters and Jim’s much-appreciated support for the classic is in now its 10th year.

“We are fortunate that many club members, supporters, and a variety of commercial enterprises provide support through tee box sponsorship for the classic and the cost for this is €50,” said the spokesperson.

“The organisers will provide the signs for our sponsors on the day and in addition we will acknowledge all those who provide support through teams, tee box or providing prizes, through public displays at the club and via each of our social media platforms.

“This year we are allocating part of the funds raised at the classic to our school support initiative where coaches will provide assistance to local schools for coaching and training in football, hurling, ladies football, and camogie.

“Remaining funds will go to team preparation in all codes.”

All sponsor inquiries can be addressed to their club complex at Neenan Park, Togher, or members of the organising committee, which includes Paul Goggin, Tim Cooke, Donal Murray, and Bill O’Connell.
