And apart from the first 20 minutes or so where Castlebridge held their own, there was never any doubt after that as Rathcormac went into another gear that really became too hot to handle for Castlebridge on the night.
Rathcormac blazed out of the blocks and found themselves in front after just three minutes when a lovely threaded pass from Conor Barry played in Richard Morrisson who slipped his low effort past the advancing Castlebridge keeper.

Morrisson was soon starting to be a thorn in the sides of the Castlebridge defence and after weaving past to defenders, he fired straight at Fenton.
And it was Morrison who threatened once again when he managed to get a second bite of the cherry on Gareth Reilly’s cross, but he steered over from an acute angle.
A chance fell for Castlebridge when Olan Linehan found himself in on goal, but he failed to hook over the advancing Ben Hogan.

And it was honours even once again when Linehan latched on to a low cross to steer home and produce an excellent finish on 18.
An immediate response from Rathcormac then saw Dominik Wojtas get a touch from Conor Barry’s cross which forced Fenton to tip over for a corner.
And after Cian Hogan could not keep his header down from Barry’s cross, Castlebridge had a gilt-edge chance, but Keith Condon was denied by a solid block from Ben Hogan.
But, Rathcormac nosed in front once again when after Morrisson’s cross was headed clear, Stephen Waters pounced to slam home his side’s second on 33.
Very quickly, the tie started to swing in favour of Rathcormac as they promptly swept forward with some nice build up play and
after Morrisson headed wide with a diving header from Conor Barry’s cross, Cian Hogan won a ball in midfield when he headed into space for Richard Morrisson who slotted calmly into the corner for his second and his side’s third on 37.
Morrisson completed his hat-trick near the break when after collecting from Conor Barry, he turned his marker before firing low into the corner to hand his side a commanding 4-1 advantage after 45 minutes.
