Country music legend Garth Brooks is returning to Cork next summer, with Páirc Uí Chaoimh set to host two concerts on June 18 and 19, 2027, as part of a 10-date Irish tour.
The Cork gigs will bring the tour to a close, with Brooks performing two nights at each of five stadiums across Ireland.
Tickets go on sale at 8am on Thursday, November 12.
“This has been a dream of mine since the first time we played Ireland. Once you get a taste of how the Irish love music, you can't play there enough,” Brooks said.
Brooks last played in Ireland in 2022, when five nights at Croke Park meant close to 400,000 people saw the country superstar perform.
The concerts followed the cancellation of a planned five-night run in Dublin in 2014 due to red tape.
Brooks had hinted at a return to Ireland beyond Dublin ahead of his fifth Croke Park concert, pointing to Ed Sheeran’s tour around the country as an example.
“I’m not sure about [Croke] Park. Ed Sheeran, I love to death. I looked at his [tour posters] and he’s got two nights somewhere, two nights somewhere, and a few nights in Croke Park but it was a full tour.
“After this week of travelling, I don’t mind coming to you,” he told a pre-show press conference.
“I just love this place. I want to play here, it’s all I want to do.” Páirc Uí Chaoimh hosted Zach Bryan for two nights earlier this year. Other acts to perform at the Cork venue in recent years include Bruce Springsteen, Westlife, Elton John and Ed Sheeran.
Brooks will also perform at Belfast’s Boucher Road Playing Fields on May 21 and 22, Galway’s Pearse Stadium on May 29 and 30, Kilkenny’s Nowlan Park on June 4 and 5, and the Gaelic Grounds in Limerick on June 11 and 12.
The tour was teased on social media earlier this week by music promoters Aiken and the venues, with a video clip showing a ‘special delivery’ notice being wheeled into each location.
