New children's book by Cork-based author explores themes of friendship and adventure 

Cork-based author Barry Murray has released a brand new children’s book which places the themes of friendship and adventure to the forefront.

Cheeky Squirrel’s Holiday is a heart-warming woodland tale, where the main characters Cheeky Squirrel and Hoppy Rabbit embark on a magical adventure.

The story highlights an important lesson, with the central characters learning that the best adventures end with coming home, as it is always families who love the most.

Mr Murray told The Echo: “The big theme to the book is that it is ok to go on adventures and enjoy yourself with your friends. But it is very nice as well to come home as well to your family. 

“So that when they come home, that they feel that they are loved.”
