Cork weather: Temperatures to remain 'very warm' as latest warning to come into effect today

A near countrywide high temperature warning is set to come into effect at 12 noon today, with temperatures in Cork city reaching highs of around 25C.
The status yellow high temperature warning has been issued for all of Munster and Connacht as well as counties Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Offaly, Westmeath, Cavan and Donegal.
Met Éireann has warned that, in those areas, maximum temperatures will be in excess of 27C, combined with overnight minimum temperatures in excess of 15C.
The national forecaster said potential impacts may include water safety issues due to increased use of lakes, beaches and waterways, uncomfortable sleeping conditions, heat stress, forest fires and drought.
The high temperature warning will be in effect until 6am on Friday.
The outlook for Munster today states that it will be "very warm or hot" with temperatures reaching 24 to 29 degrees.
This morning will be mostly dry with sunny spells and just the chance of a few light showers.
During the afternoon and evening, some further showers are possible in light easterly winds.
