Cork will mark UN International Day of Charity for the first time tomorrow with Cork Communities in Action, a free and family friendly event taking place at Bishop Lucey Park from 2pm to 4pm.

The event will showcase the breadth of the community and voluntary sector in Cork, allowing the public to meet local organisations, discover ways to get involved, and celebrate the contribution of community and voluntary groups to life in Cork.

It will also feature performances by viral children’s rap group Kabin Crew, musicians from the Westgate Foundation, and Ukrainian musicians.

There will also be family activities and an opportunity to meet local community and voluntary groups.

“This event will showcase the extraordinary breadth and impact of community and voluntary activity in Cork,” said a spokesperson for the event.
