Parts of Cork city’s southside may suffer overnight water supply disruptions this week, Uisce Éireann has warned.

The water utility company said essential works are scheduled to begin at 10pm on Thursday night, running until 4am the following morning, Friday, April 24.

Uisce Éireann warned that the works, which are classed as essential maintenance repair works, are likely to cause some disruption to local water supplies in the surrounding areas.

According to the company, the works may cause overnight supply disruptions to Infirmary Rd, Summerhill South, Boreenmanna Rd, Blackrock Rd, Old Blackrock Rd, Douglas Rd, Ballinlough Rd, South Douglas Rd, and surrounding areas in Cork city.

There will be a traffic management plan in place for the duration of the works.

Uisce Éireann said it recommended that the public should allow three to four hours after the estimated restoration time for water supply to fully return.

To access updates on these works, the public is invited to visit the Uisce Éireann website, water.ie, and enter in the search bar the reference: CCI00110323.
