A 21-year-old man accused of assault causing harm to another young man outside a nightclub in Cork city on Christmas Eve 2023 appeared before Cork District Court.

Sergeant Gearóid Davis said the Director of Public Prosecution directed trial on indictment at Cork Circuit Criminal Court and also consented to a signed plea of guilty being entered at Cork District Court for sentencing at the circuit court.

Prosecution documents are to be sent to defence solicitor Killian McCarthy for the defence to indicate if a plea of guilty or not guilty will be entered.
