A series of books set in Cork by a West Cork author has been commissioned by Prime Video for the small screen and will be adapted by the producers of the popular Twilight series.

The Boys of Tommen by Chloe Walsh is a bestselling series of books set in a fictional Cork town and a private school.

It follows the forbidden love story of Johnny Kavanagh, the star rugby player, and Shannon Lynch, the talented but painfully shy new girl at Tommen College.

SERIES

The romantic drama series will be adapted for the screen by the producers of The Summer I Turned Pretty, One Day, and the vampire series Twilight.

Series one will be based on the first two novels in Walsh’s series, Binding 13 and Keeping 13, and adapted by Poppy Cogan ( A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder).

“The response from readers around the world has been overwhelming, and knowing that everyone behind this production and book shares my passion for telling this story authentically means the world to me,” says Walsh, who hails from West Cork, where she continues to reside with her family.

Boys of Tommen will premiere exclusively on Prime Video worldwide as part of Amazon MGM Studios’ expanding global slate of premium international scripted series, extending the studio’s storytelling across genres and formats.

Boys of Tommen will join Prime Video’s book-to-screen adaptations alongside the upcoming 56 Days, by fellow Cork author Catherine Ryan Howard, which premieres on February 18 and stars Dove Cameron.
