Yellow wind warning in effect for Cork this afternoon
Met Éireann added that the potential impacts during the yellow wind warning include some wave overtopping, loose objects displaced, some fallen trees and branches, along with difficult travelling conditions in places.
Met Éireann has issued a status yellow wind warning for Cork which came into effect at 2pm today and will remain in force until 8pm tonight.
The forecaster said that very windy conditions are expected, with strong and gusty south to southwest winds and gales near coasts.

Generally, Sunday is wet and windy as a band of rain moves north eastwards on Sunday afternoon, followed by showers this evening.
South to southwest winds will become very strong and gusty, with gales in coastal areas. It will be milder than in recent days, with the highest temperatures between 11 to 13 degrees.
Tonight at first will see strong and gusty south to southwest winds, but winds will become mainly moderate overnight. There will be a mix of clear spells and scattered showers, with lowest temperatures of 6 to 8 degrees.
Tomorrow, Monday, will bring scattered showers and occasional sunshine. There will be highest temperatures of betweem 8 to 11 degrees, with moderate to fresh southwesterly winds, easing light to moderate by evening.
