This Christmas, various events will be held in Nano Nagle Place, right in the heart of Cork city. Picture: Darragh Kane.

This Christmas, Nano Nagle Place’s historic grounds will be filled with festive cheer, as the museum, heritage buildings, and walled gardens host several seasonal events.

Visitors can enjoy the annual Christmas carol performances, craft markets, and a range of Christmas activities for children.

The markets are an annual event, focussed on Irish made gifts made by local artists and designers as well as seasonal treats. Last year’s events also included six performances of A Christmas Carol including two matinees in the venue’s The Goldie Chapel.

Full details of the Nano Nagle Place Christmas programme for 2025 will be shared soon, with details to be published on their social media pages. Nano Nagle Place is located on Douglas Street, and is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10am-5pm.

From October 8-30, a free art installation will be on show in the centre, with 12 artists having created their own interpretation of a “garden” in many forms, including sculpture, textiles, painting, poetry, and mixed media.
