The Metropole Hotel has announced its line-up for this year’s Jazz Festival Club across the October bank holiday weekend.

The original home of the Cork Jazz Festival is welcoming firm favourites and new additions. Music fans can expect a mixture of swing, funk, groove, and blues from top Irish and international artists.

The line-up includes Jazz Festival Club favourites The Swing Bandits, featuring The Loungeman, The Swing Cats, The Motones, Harry Connolly, and Le Hot Club Quintet.

Also joining them at the Metropole will be new additions New Brass Kings, Chapuiques Brass Band, Grooveline, and Bobby Mc and the Dukes. Louise McNamara, general manager of the Metropole Hotel, said that the Cork Jazz Festival is a special time of the year for music lovers.

“People enjoy coming to The Metropole as they get a flavour of the many different types of music on offer in Cork across the weekend and it’s all under the one roof.”

Attendees will be able to move from stage to stage to enjoy the atmosphere and excitement of the Festival Club, including the recently renovated ballroom and lobby. The Met Bar will be an open venue, with live music, from 1:30pm daily.

A number of jazz dining experiences offer a four-course dinner in the hotel’s new Merchant restaurant, accompanied by live music performances and access to the Jazz Festival Club.

Across the hotel, there will be free live performances from 1.30pm to 5pm on the Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, while the music will continue from 6.30pm to 2am on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights.

Meanwhile, entrance to the Jazz Festival Club in the evenings is for ticket holders only.

The Metropole Hotel Jazz Festival Club is an over-23s venue, with tickets from €45, plus booking fee per person.

The Saturday evening is sold out, but there are still limited tickets available for the Friday and Sunday nights.
