Gardaí rule out foul play following death of man in 50s in Cork city

Gardaí investigating the death of a man in his 50s whose body was found in a property at Lower Barrack View off Cathedral Walk in Cork on Tuesday have ruled out foul play.
The alarm was raised at 4pm on Tuesday by a man who was passing by and spotted the body inside the window of the terraced house on the northside of the city.
Gardaí went to the scene and discovered the body of a man inside the property.
The Office of the State Pathologist was notified. The scene was preserved for a full technical examination. There was no evidence of forced entry at the property.

The death is not being treated as suspicious. Gardaí will prepare a file for the Cork City Coroner and an inquest is expected to be heard at a later date.
