Gardaí are investigating after Taoiseach Micheál Martin’s constituency office in Turner’s Cross was vandalised in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Gardaí are investigating after Taoiseach Micheál Martin’s constituency office in Turner’s Cross was vandalised in the early hours of this morning.

The front of Mr Martin’s office on Evergreen St in Turner’s Cross was daubed with red, green and black paint, with graffiti reading “F pawn scum MD traitor” sprayed on the wall and partially on a window.

A garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí are investigating an incident of criminal damage at a premises in Turner’s Cross, Cork that occurred in the early hours of Thursday, July 31.

“The scene is preserved pending a technical examination to be conducted in due course."

They added that anyone who was in the Turner’s Cross area between 12.30am and 1am and who may have any information is asked to contact investigating gardaí at Anglesea Street Garda Station on 021 4522000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or at any garda station.

Investigations are ongoing.

The Taoiseach’s office has been asked for comment.
