Gardaí have launched an appeal for information following the discovery of a body of a male in his 50s in Ballymaquirk in north Cork at the weekend.
In a statement from the Garda Press Office, a Garda spokesperson said the body of the man was discovered in Ballymaquirk, which is located between Kanturk and main Killarney to Mallow road or the N72 on Saturday last, June 28.
"Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information relating to this incident to come forward," the spokesperson said in the statement.
In particular, Gardaí are appealing for witnesses in relation to a male walking on the road between Banteer and Kanturk, Co. Cork, on the evening of Friday June 13th 2025 between the hours of 3.30pm and 9:00pm.
Any road users who were travelling in this vicinity at the time, and who may have camera footage including dash cam, are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.

It is understood that Gardaí do not suspect foul play at this stage.
