Children and adults are encouraged to bring their favourite teddy bears and a picnic to The Donkey Sanctuary in Liscarroll, Cork.
The annual summer event promises activities including face painting, a bouncy castle, hook a duck, teddy bear hospital and a prize draw, plus the chance to meet some of the friendly resident donkeys.
There will be a competition with prizes for the best dressed teddy and best teddy and owner lookalike, several donkey talks, and visitors will be able to adopt a donkey, with all funds raised on the day going towards helping donkeys in Ireland.
Light snacks will also be available from the sanctuary’s visitor centre, while food and drink vendors will be providing hot and cold food and refreshments.
Tickets for the event need to be pre-booked from The Donkey Sanctuary’s website. For those three to 16 years of age tickets are €5 each, over 16 years cost €3, while those under three are free. All proceeds support the work of The Donkey Sanctuary Ireland and help provide care to their resident donkeys.
