Cobh film ‘a heartfelt tribute’ to community of Cork town

Johanna Murphy and Taoiseach Micheál Martin TD, celebrating with the guests and attendees at the launch of the new cinematic tribute to Cobh.
Taoiseach Micheál Martin was on hand recently to officially launch a new short film about Cobh at a special event hosted in the Sirius Arts Centre.
“Cobh – Discover the Secret” is a cinematic tribute to the people, the places and pride of Cobh.
The short film is commissioned by Johanna Murphy, founder and director of the auctioneering firm Johanna Murphy & Sons, and produced by filmmaker Brian Glanby.
The launch event brought together community leaders, business owners and supporters to celebrate a project that many have described as “transformational” for the town of Cobh.
Speaking at the launch, Mr Martin praised the initiative as a great promotion of Cobh:
"Johanna’s film is a powerful reminder of the vibrancy, potential and unique charm of Cobh, a town that represents the very best of Ireland.
“It is truly inspiring to see a local entrepreneur invest so passionately in celebrating and promoting her hometown.”
Also speaking at the event, Ms Murphy added:
“This film is my gift to Cobh - a beacon for those seeking their perfect life, and a warm embrace for those who carry our island in their hearts while living far from home.”
The launch also honoured the collaborative efforts of Cobh Tidy Towns, Cork County Council and local leaders such as Fianna Fáil councillor Dominic Finn, who played pivotal roles in helping to bring the project to life.
