Cork musician Cian Ducrot wins Grammy Award for songwriting

Cork man Cian Ducrot has won his first Grammy Award for songwriting at the ceremony which was held in Los Angeles on Sunday.
The Passage West native was one of the co writers of the track Saturn, performed by singer SZA and which won the Grammy for best R&B song.
“Can’t Believe It,” was what Mr Ducrot posted on an Instagram story sharing the news of his Grammy award success.
Mr Ducrot saw his maidan album ‘Victory’, which was released in October 2023 top the album charts in Ireland and the UK. He also won the RTÉ Choice Music Prize for Irish Song of the Year with his track Heaven.
In the summer of 2024 Mr Ducrot performed in a number of high profile Irish concerts, including on his native Leeside at Virgin Media Park.
Cian Ducrot is to return to Cork this summer for another gig at Live At The Marquee, where he will be performing on Saturday, July 19.
