Man pleads guilty to having drugs for sale in Blackpool

A 42-year-old man accused of having a €20,000 stash of cannabis and €5,000 worth of amphetamines at his home at Seminary Rd in Blackpool, Cork, has signed a plea of guilty to drugs charges.

The most serious charge to which Bart Grabowski pleaded guilty was one of having cannabis and amphetamines for sale or supply to others at a time when their combined value exceeded €13,000.

That charge can carry a minimum 10 year sentence unless the sentencing judge finds that there are exceptional circumstances.

Detective Garda Ruairi McGovern brought the charges against the accused that he had the drugs at his home address at Seminary Rd, Blackpool, on July 23, 2023.

Judge Mary Dorgan sent the case forward from Cork District Court to the sessions of Cork Circuit Criminal Court to commence on February 4.

Bail conditions previously required Mr Grabowski to sign on twice a week at Bridewell Garda Station, surrender his travel documents, and provide a mobile number at which he was contactable by gardaí.
