Storm Éowyn unleashed havoc across Ireland from the late hours of Thursday night and into the early hours of Friday morning.
Some sports clubs in Cork felt the brunt of the red level warning storm.
Everton AFC in Cork saw extensive damage caused by the storm to their Everton Park home grounds located right next to Cork Airport.

Among the players who have emerged from Everton AFC underage ranks in Cork include former Ireland great Irwin, Cork City FC playing legend Joe Gamble and current Ireland international and Ipswich Town attacker Chiedozie Ogbene.
In a statement on their official Facebook page, Everton AFC said:
“Despite the best efforts to secure all our equipment extensive damage was done to our fencing, dugouts, goals and the pitch itself.

“We’ll need to dust ourselves down and put a plan in place to get Everton Park open again but it is now closed for the weekend at a minimum. If there is any business out there that would be kind enough to help or offset some of the costs please drop us a message.”
Another sports club hit by damage caused by Storm Éowyn were Laochra Óg Hurling and Camogie Club, who suffered damage to their goalposts at their Ballymacorcoran grounds near Macroom in Co Cork.

Laochra Óg, a club which covers the areas of Macroom, Ballyvourney, Kilnamartyra and Clondrohid, undertook a lot of hard work into putting the goalposts in place and the club are understood to be disappointed to see them destroyed so soon.
