Jail for Cork man who was caught with drugs after fleeing from gardaí
Keith Newman, 28, of Elm Park, Wilton, Cork, pleaded guilty at Cork District Court to counts of possession of drugs for his own use and obstruction of a search of March 30 2024.
A total prison sentence of five months was imposed on a young man who was caught with drugs despite his obstruction of the search by fleeing from gardaí.

Sergeant John Kelleher said the defendant came to the attention of gardaí at Shandon Street that afternoon and he ran away on to Cattle Market Street, obstructing a drugs search until he was caught.
He pleaded guilty to the offences.
