Plans lodged for Kinsale residential development

The application, submitted by Catholic Walk Kinsale Ltd earlier this week, seeks to demolish an existing dwelling house and ancillary structures along Catholic Walk in the town, to allow for the further construction of a small residential development.

Plans for the construction of close to 20 residential units in Kinsale have been lodged with Cork County Council.

The application, submitted by Catholic Walk Kinsale Ltd earlier this week, seeks to demolish an existing dwelling house and ancillary structures along Catholic Walk in the town, to allow for the further construction of a small residential development.

The development would include 18 residential units, comprising five detached units, two of which will have associated domestic garages; eight semi- detached units and five apartments, sorted in two apartment blocks.

The plans also seek permission for additional works including access, footpaths, car and bicycle parking, drainage, bicycle and bin stores, lighting, and landscaping areas.

Footpaths

Site development works include road widening and the provision of a raised table along Catholic Walk, and the provision of new footpaths along Catholic Walk and Barrack Street in Kinsale town.

Access to the site will be provided via new vehicle access point, which will stem from the existing Catholic Walk and Barrack Street access-way.

The application is currently at the pre-validation stage, with submissions in relation to the development accepted until February 11.

Cork County Council is due to make a decision on the application by early March.
