A Ballincollig woman is part of an award-winning Cork travel company which has just won a prestigious national business award.

Joanne O’Brien, a native of The Village, is one of the Travel Counsellors Ireland team, which has been named Business All-Star Travel Company of the Year.

The accreditation was awarded by the All-Ireland Business Foundation (AIBF), an independent national accreditation body that recognises businesses demonstrating outstanding performance, trust and customer focus.

This is Travel Counsellors Ireland’s second consecutive year of national recognition.

A leader in premium leisure and corporate travel, Travel Counsellors Ireland, headquartered in Mahon, is part of a global community of almost  2,500 Travel Counsellors across six countries, including more than 80 based across Ireland.

Since launching in Ireland in 2005, the company has become synonymous with personalised service, trusted travel expertise and innovative technology, delivering tailor-made experiences for customers.

Ms O’Brien said she was delighted with the accolade.

“I’m incredibly proud to be part of an award-winning team and to represent Travel Counsellors here in Cork,” she said.

“What makes this role so special is the opportunity to build lasting relationships with clients and help create memorable travel experiences, while also having the flexibility and support to grow your own business.”

Cathy Burke, managing director of Travel Counsellors Ireland, said receiving the award had been a great achievement for the staff in her company’s team, reflecting their passion, care and expertise.

“As we continue to grow across Ireland, we’re excited to welcome more talented travel professionals into our community,” she said.

“Travel Counsellors really is one of the best jobs in travel, combining the freedom to build your own business with the support, technology and global expertise to help you succeed.”

Kieran Ring, deputy chair of the AIBF adjudication board, said the company stood out for its focus on the customer experience.

“The panel recognised the strength of its personalised service model, its professionalism and the trust it has built with clients nationwide,” he said.

“Achieving this accreditation for a second consecutive year reflects a business that delivers excellence as standard.”

Kapil Khanna, co-CEO of the AIBF, said Travel Counsellors Ireland’s continued success reflected a clear focus on delivering value and confidence to clients in the travel sector.

This award will likely been seen to further strengthen Travel Counsellors Ireland’s position as one of the country’s leading travel providers and highlight the company’s continued investment in growing its network.
