Cork Arts Theatre thankful for those involved in 10x10 event

Cork Arts Theatre has expressed gratitude to everyone to participated in or attended the recent 10 x 10 event.

The theatre said: “Thank you to everyone who attended, and took part in, our 10 x 10 Minute Play Event. We had a wonderful week of performing the ten short plays for your enjoyment.

“The audiences voted for their favourite play each evening and the ultimate winner was Welcome to your New Upgrade by Miriam Needham, directed by Marleen Elisabeth Hein, and starring Savni Kodilkar, Salomé Maher Bordalo and Colin Healy. Congratulations to all.

“We’ll do it all again in May with our next short play event, Views from a Couch. Hope to see you there!”

Theatre seek volunteers

Blackpool’s Graffiti Theatre is seeking volunteers. The venue said: “Here at Graffiti we would like to take the time to celebrate the amazing volunteers who dedicate their time to our Fighting Words Creative Writing workshops every week.

“Their support means that every child who attends the workshop gets heard and has an opportunity to create. Through scribing for young people who may find writing a challenge, listening to individual’s stories and encouraging their work.

If you are over 18 and interested in volunteering with Fighting Words we would love to hear from you. You don’t need any prior experience. Anyone who enjoys working in a creative environment with young people- and is a good listener — is welcome to volunteer. No minimum volunteer hours are required. Volunteer only when and if it suits you, but be warned it can be addictive!”

Contact Ann Marie, Fighting Words coordinator at cork@fightingwords.ie or (021) 4397111.
