Carbery Rangers have finalised their management team ahead of the 2026 campaign.

The West Cork side will be determined to make an immediate return to the McCarthy Insurance Group Premier SFC following demotion last season. It ended their 20-year stay in the top-tier.

Former Cork footballer Donagh Wiseman will be coaching the Rosscarbery-based outfit next season.

He won a National Football League title in 1999 under Larry Tompkins and would later play for the Cork junior team who won the All-Ireland in 2005.

He collected a second winners’ medal in that grade when Cork beat Wexford two years later.

Wiseman was involved as a player with Beara when they claimed the Cork SFC crown in 1997. He also won a county medal in that year when Beara won the U21 A championship.

The former defender also played a key role in Castletownbere winning the IFC in 2012.

Wiseman spent a period as a statistician with the Cork senior football team before later becoming involved in Cork's underage football development squads.

He was coach of Canovee when they won the Mid-Cork JAFC title and the county crown in 2023.

Wiseman will be working under new manager Robbie Ahern as Carbery Rangers look to make an impact in the McCarthy Insurance Group SAFC in the next campaign.

Ahern was a selector under Seamus Hayes in recent years with Hayes moving on in the wake of relegation.

The new boss was part of the Carbery Rangers management that led the West Cork team to the Cork SFC title in 2016 for the very first time as Andy Scannell spent the winter in Rosscarbery.

Carbery Rangers will take on rivals O’Donovan Rossa, Cill na Martra and Newmarket in their McCarthy Insurance Group SAFC group stage in the next campaign.

Before that, they will be playing in the McCarthy Insurance Group Division 1 Football League after earning promotion from Division 2 last season.
