The Corrs to kick off second leg of European tour in Cork next summer

The Corrs, who describe themselves as 'Ireland's first family of music', will be kicking off the second leg of their Talk On Corners Tour in Cork's Virgin Media Park on June 6 of next year. Tickets go on sale on Friday, December 13.

Ireland’s ‘first family of music’, The Corrs, are to kick off the second leg of their European tour with a major concert in Cork next summer, bringing their worldwide hits such as ‘Forgiven Not Forgotten’, ‘Runaway’, and ‘Breathless’ to a new generation of fans.

Siblings Andrea, Sharon, Caroline, and Jim Corr will be playing at Virgin Media Park in Cork on June 6 before heading to Dublin to play at St Anne’s Park two days later.

Imelda May will be the special guest at both concerts, along with support from Natalie Imbruglia.

The ‘Talk on Corners’ tour, named for the band’s second and best-selling album, has won the band many new fans, both those who sang along with them in their 1990s heyday and younger followers who have just discovered the group, alongside Taylor Swift and Emma Watson, who have declared themselves fans of the Dundalk outfit.

Isle of Wight

The band’s latest tour has seen them play at the Isle of Wight Festival in June of this year, where Sting topped the bill, and the 2025 leg of the tour will see them play three dates in Germany followed by performances in Barcelona and Madrid after their appearance in Cork.

They also played at the Singapore Grand Prix and were one of the main acts at the BST Hyde Park as guests of country music star Shania Twain.

The band had a hiatus of a number of years and went their separate ways for a while in the early noughties as they raised their families, but now they are back on tour.

Having sold more than 40m albums during their career, the band has a worldwide fan base.

Reviews

Their recent performance in Manchester led to reviews in which a critic wrote that the “grungy angst in ‘I Never Loved You Anyway’ would make Olivia Rodrigo jealous”.

Andrea Corr, who first came to prominence as a 16-year-old in Alan Parker’s film, The Commitments, as well as appearing alongside Madonna in a film version of the musical Evita, has said the band couldn’t wait to get back on stage.

“The reception we received from audiences on the tour was unbelievable,” she said. “It’s such a privilege to share the music with everyone, it means the world to us.”

Tickets go on sale on Friday, December 13, and, while they wait, fans will also have the opportunity to purchase limited edition and signed artworks which reimagine the soundwaves of the band’s iconic songs, ‘Runaway’ and ‘Breathless’ which are available alongside hand-written lyrics to raise funds for the War Child charity.

These are available via the Soundwaves Art Foundation website.
