Man due in court in connection with incidents in Shanakiel and Churchfield in August

Gardaí have arrested a second man as part of investigations into incidents at Shanakiel and Churchfield Road in Cork on August 23 this year.

The man, aged in his 20s, is now due to appear before Cork District Court this morning.

This is the second arrest made as part of these investigations.

According to previous information provided by gardaí, on August 23 last, an incident of criminal damage allegedly occurred at a property in the Shanakiel area of Cork at approximately 5.40pm.

A road traffic collision subsequently occurred at approximately 6.10pm on the Churchfield Road.

A male pedestrian in his 60s was taken to Cork University Hospital for treatment following the collision.
