Lucky lottery player nets €500,000 win in Midleton

An unknown shopper has become the fourth person to win €500,000 in the Euromillions Plus draw this year after purchasing their ticket in a Cork store.  The winning ticket was purchased yesterday in the Circle K Lakewview on Whitegate Street in Midleton.

A shopper who purchased a Euromillions ticket in a Midleton garage yesterday is €500,000 better off today but may not even realise it.

According to a National Letter spokesperson, Sarah Ruane, the winning ticket in the draw was purchased on Tuesday at the Circle K Lakeview on Whitegate Street in the East Cork town.  The winning numbers in the October 8 Euromillions Plus draw were 14,19, 25, 43 and 49.

“Cork is absolutely on fire this year!," said Ms. Ruane. "This incredible win marks the fourth time a EuroMillions Plus ticket from Cork has landed the €500,000 top prize in 2024 alone.

"Last night’s EuroMillions draw also saw over 33,000 players nationwide win prizes.

"Today, we’re urging all our players in Cork, especially those who purchased their ticket yesterday in Circle K Lakeview, Whitegate Street, Midleton, to check those tickets carefully and get ready to claim this amazing prize.”

If you happen to have been the lucky one to purchase the winning ticket in Midleton yesterday, you are advised to sign the back of your ticket and keep it safe.  You should contact the National Lottery prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie.
