Bon Secours Radiotherapy Cork, in partnership with UPMC Hillman Cancer Centre, has delivered 50,000 radiotherapy fractions to more than 4,000 patients in its five years of providing oncology services to the people of Munster.

Harry Canning, CEO of Bon Secours Hospital Cork, said the success of the joint venture “underscores the importance of collaboration” in the healthcare sector.

“In Cork, we have created a centre of excellence that serves the Munster region with the highest standards of radiotherapy,” said Mr Canning.

“We look forward to continuing this partnership and expanding our services to meet the growing needs of the community.”

Mary Hickey, director of oncology services at UPMC Ireland, said: “We are incredibly proud of the impact we’ve made in the lives of our patients over the past five years.

“Delivering nearly 50,000 radiotherapy fractions is a testament to our dedicated team’s hard work and commitment to providing cutting-edge cancer care.”
