A new show about three of Ireland’s most important historical figures is taking place in Cork tonight.

Souls, Shadows, and Secrets is an original multimedia performance that brings Michael Collins, Countess Markievicz and Éamon de Valera to life, through the old Pathé newsreels from 1915 to 1927.

The production debuted at the Everyman in Cork this week, with another show this evening from 8pm, marking the 102nd anniversary of Collins’s assassination. The tales of Collins, Markievicz, and de Valera are framed within the story of a young Irish woman, Kate Delaney, who reveals her own personal experiences.

Written and directed by Barry Monahan, from the School of Film, Music & Theatre at University College Cork, the performance is for audiences of all ages.

Tickets are available via the Everyman website for €29.
