The board of Cork University Hospital Charity has announced that the charity’s head of development and marketing, Claire Concannon, will take up the position of its interim executive director.
It follows Michael Nason notifying the board in December 2023 of his intention to step down as CEO at the end of June 2024.

Passionate
Commenting on the appointment, Ms Concannon said she is passionate about creating and implementing innovative strategies to raise awareness, engage donors, and generate income for the benefit of CUH and CUMH, their staff and patients.

Chairman of the CUH Charity, Gerry O’Dwyer wished Ms Concannon every success in her challenging role and said he was confident that
“Claire’s deep understanding and knowledge of the health charity sector would ensure the charity would maintain and enhance its primary focus of supporting CUH and CUMH in the delivery of first class patient care and a being a safe comfortable environment for staff and visitors”.
"Notwithstanding the challenges always associated with fundraising, CUH Charity has maintained a steady level of growth since its foundation, thanks in no small way to the dedicated staff who work tirelessly to achieve ambitious targets.
In that regard I would like to pay a particular tribute to our departing CEO, Michael Nason, who took over in early 2019 and steered the charity during the challenging Covid-19 period. I would also like to wish Michael every success in the future.”
