The estate will be comprised of mainly semi-detached houses, with the cheapest three-bed, mid-terrace townhouse available to expectant buyers priced from €445,000.

AT least a dozen people had gathered outside a new property development in Cork earlier today, ahead of its official launch tomorrow.

The Bayly development, situated off the Carrigaline Rd in Douglas, is due to start home showings on Saturday from 12pm to 2pm — with a second round of showings on Sunday.

It is reported that queuing for the showings began as early as 2pm on Thursday.

It is understood that those who queued at the development are hoping to be in with a chance of getting to bid on one of the first 30 houses released within the 193-home development.

The estate will be comprised of mainly semi-detached houses, with the cheapest three-bed, mid-terrace townhouse available to expectant buyers priced from €445,000.

The estate will also have options for four-bed, mid-terrace townhouses from €560,000.

The project has received some 4,000 applications of interest, with most of the homes eligible for Help to Buy and First Homes schemes.

The properties will also come with an A2 BER, making them eligible for a green mortgages.

This will be the first development project in Cork delivered by Dublin-based developers Cairns Homes, with the properties sold to buyers through the letting agent Savills.

Savills has been contacted for comment on the matter.
