Alan Walsh is rewarded for his goal against Kilkenny last week with a first league start for Cork in Saturday’s Division 1A clash with Limerick at TUS Gaelic Grounds (7pm).

The Kanturk man featured off the bench against both Waterford and the Cats and he is included in the full-forward line along with Brian Hayes and Shane Barrett, who is back from suspension.

In total, there are a total of eight changes from the three-point victory in UPMC Nowlan Park, which took Cork to eight points after four games.

Patrick Collins returns in goal while Eoin Roche, Ger Millerick, Ethan Twomey, Micheál Mullins, Shane Kingston – making his first start of the league – Alan Walsh and Barrett all come in to Ben O’Connor’s side, with Paudie O’Sullivan, Niall O’Leary, Seán O’Donoghue, Cormac O’Brien, captain Darragh Fitzgibbon, William Buckley, Hugh O’Connor and Alan Connolly making way.

Declan Dalton and Séamus Harnedy, who missed the Noreside trip with injury, are named among the substitutes. In the absence of Fitzgibbon and injured vice-captain Mark Coleman, Tim O’Mahony will skipped the side from centre-forward.
