A sentencing judge said at the end of a 43-year-old man’s case at Cork District Court: “I mean it in the nicest possible way – I don’t want to see you again.”
Judge Mary Dorgan ordered Jerry Keogh to do a total of 160 hours of community service instead of going to jail and expressed the hope that he would not get himself into any further trouble.
Jerry Keogh of 33 Mourne Avenue, The Glen, Cork came to the attention of garda on Magazine Road.
Sergeant Dave Delea said Mr Keogh was extremely unsteady on his feet, shouting loudly in the middle of the road.
In another drunken incident at Parnell Place he was again aggressive. He has his fists clenched and was squaring up to another man.
And in a third incident he had a knife in his pocket on June 1 2023.
Jerry Keogh said: “I had argument with my girlfriend. I walked out of the house with the knife in my pocket without knowing it was there.”
