Feed Cork and Cork City FC are set to partner on a food drive this weekend at Cork City's final home game of the season.

Feed Cork and Cork City FC are partnering for a food drive this Saturday at the club’s final home league game of the season against Derry City.

Supporters are invited to bring tins of non-perishable food to this Saturday’s game at Turner’s Cross, which kicks off at 4:30pm.

There will be designated collection points at the stadium where donations can be made.

Feed Cork partners with local organisations to help fight food poverty in Cork, supplying a three day supply of nutritional food for individuals and families in need.

Erika Ní Thuama, community and academy coordinator with Cork City FC, said the club is pleased to be linking up with Feed Cork once again.

“They are doing some fabulous work in the local community and we are only too happy to row in behind them and support what they are doing.

“As it is our final home game of the season, it is an ideal time for people to donate, and we would encourage as many people as possible to do so, if they can.”

Hamp Sirmans of Feed Cork said linking up with Cork City FC helps significantly to raise awareness and fight food insecurity in Cork.

“Every tin of food will help local families finding it hard at this time of year to make ends meet.

"Let’s do all we can to support our city. Up the Rebel Army and down with hunger.”
