OSCAR-winning actor Jeremy Irons will attend The Hope Foundation’s annual Cork Lunch this month.
Long associated with the charity, Irons was recently appointed its special ambassador for its 25th anniversary.
Since 1999, Hope has touched the lives of nearly 3m people, providing essential services in the areas of education, healthcare, child protection, and vocational training.
Mr Irons, who in 1991 won an Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance as Claus von Bülow in the film Reversal of Fortune, visited Hope projects in Kolkata in 2019.
“The work they do in Kolkata is truly life-changing, providing hope and opportunity to those who need it most,” Mr Irons said.
The Hope Foundation annual fundraising Cork Lunch includes an oyster and prosecco reception, and a three-course meal with wine, followed by an auction and a raffle.
The event takes place on Friday, April 19, at the Maryborough House Hotel, and tickets can be purchased at hopefoundation.ie
