Brian O’Driscoll of 39 Castle Avenue, Muskerry Estate, Ballincollig, County Cork, pleaded guilty at Cork District Court to a charge of possession of the drug for his own use.
Judge Mary Dorgan convicted and fined him €200 at Cork District Court.
Sergeant John Kelleher said a warrant was executed by Detective Garda Rory Fogarty for a search of a house at Castlepark, Ballincollig, on September 9 2022.
Mr O’Driscoll, 32, was present at the house at that time and had the small amount of cannabis for his own use.
Sgt Kelleher said the accused had two previous convictions for having drugs for his own use.
Defence solicitor, Eddie Burke, said that things had settled down for the accused since this offence was detected in 2022 and that the defendant was now back living at home and doing better in his life.
