Two young men dead in four car crash in Tipperary

Two young men have been killed in a four car crash in County Tipperary.

One of the men in his early 20s and another man in his late teens who were in one of the cars, were pronounced dead at the scene at Ballinunty.

The four cars crashed on a local road at Killeen shortly before 6 o'clock this evening.

Two women, both in their 20s who were in a second car, were taken by ambulance to Tipperary University Hospital, Clonmel where their injuries are non- life-threatening.

Six others were medically assessed at the scene and did not need immediate hospital treatment.

The road remains closed tonight with local diversions in place and gardaí are appealing for witnesses.
