A countrywide status yellow low temperature and ice warning has been issued by Met Éireann as the current cold snap continues to bite.
The warning will come into effect at 9pm and is expected to remain in place until 10am tomorrow.
The national weather forecaster said it will be “cold with icy conditions” over the period.

According to the latest forecast for Munster, frost, icy patches, mist and fog will slowly clear this morning, with bright or sunny spells developing.
It is expected to remain dry, with highest temperatures of between 3 and 6 degrees in light to moderate easterly breezes.
Tonight will be very cold and mainly dry with a “widespread sharp frost and icy patches”.
“A few isolated showers may develop in the south, possibly wintry on hills,” Met Éireann said.
Some patches of mist or fog may also develop with temperatures falling to lows of -4 to 1 degrees in light easterly breezes.
Tomorrow morning, frost, ice and any fog patches will gradually clear.
It will be mainly dry again with bright or sunny spells. Maximum values will remain around the same as today.
According to the national outlook for the week, high pressure will dominate, bringing “mostly dry and cold weather with some sunshine”.
Frost and ice will develop at night along with patches of mist and fog.
A cold weather advisory for the entire country remains in place until Friday night, with the public alerted to hazardous travelling conditions due to sharp or severe frost, icy patches and dense fog at times.
