Uisce Éireann working to restore water to 500 Cork homes following outage

Approximately 500 homes in Crosshaven, Myrtleville, Fountainstown and surrounding areas are impacted following a power outage due to Storm Gerrit.
Uisce Éireann says crews are working to restore water supply for customers in Crosshaven and surrounding areas impacted by an unplanned outage.
Approximately 500 homes in Crosshaven, Myrtleville, Fountainstown and surrounding areas are impacted following a power outage due to Storm Gerrit.
The company said that affected customers in the area may experience low pressure and/or interruptions to their water supply for the next 24 hours.
Dedicated water services crews are onsite working to get the water supply restored to all customers as soon as possible.
"To support customers, an alternative water supply will be made available this afternoon at Fountainstown Beach Car Park on Ferry Road. Customers are reminded to bring their own containers and to boil the water before use," a spokesperson for Uisce Éireann said.
Speaking about the unplanned outage, Cormac Bergin of Uisce Éireann said: “The effect of last night’s storm caused a power outage. Expert crews are still onsite working hard to get the water supply restored as soon as possible. We regret any inconvenience caused as a result of this issue and thank the local community for their patience
