Man with stolen keg of Beamish pleads guilty to handling stolen property

A park bench in the centre of Cork city was the location for a man to enjoy a midday drink of stout from a paper cup – and on closer inspection it turned out that he had a stolen keg of Beamish beside him.
This was the scene described by Sergeant Pat Lyons for Judge Mary Dorgan at Cork District Court.
Kieran Goldsmith, 38, who is living in temporary accommodation on Western Road in Cork, pleaded guilty to handling stolen property on November 3.
Sergeant Pat Lyons said, “On November 3 at midday, Mr Goldsmith was seen in Bishop Lucey Park drinking stout from a paper cup on a bench.

Judge Mary Dorgan said, “I will adjourn this to February 21 2024 to see how he gets on with his alcohol issue over the Christmas period.”
