Cork GAA: Guide to club hurling and football fixtures for September

After an epic eight weeks of action, the group stages in the biggest club championship programme in the country have concluded.
The weather held up and the games ran smoothly, apart from the controversy over the Fermoy-Ballinora game, which ended in a draw but was subsequently awarded to Fermoy by the Cork County Board due to a two-pointer marked down as a one.
That situation held up the PIFC planning but now it's Fermoy against Rockchapel and Macroom-Naomh Abán in those quarter-finals, as all the knockout games and the relegation play-offs are pencilled in across the next two weekends.
There are some terrific double-headers in that schedule, starting on Saturday night in Páirc Uí Rinn where the PIHC quarter-finals featuring Carrigaline and Cloyne and Aghabullogue-Dungourney look too close to call.
Carrigaline, along with Kanturk, St Finbarr's and St Nicks/Glen Rovers, are still in the hunt for trophies in both codes.

This Sunday, up in Mallow, there's a cracking Premier SHC double bill where Charleville against the Glen is followed by Sars versus Kanturk. The North Cork clubs are both capable of causing upsets, though Darragh Fitzgibbon's injury is a concern.
On the football front, on Sunday, September 27 in Clonakilty, it's Carbery and the Barrs followed by Castlehaven and Nemo Rangers. As good as it gets and in the heart of West Cork.
