A Non-EU passenger attempting to enter the country illegally was seized by detectives at Cork Airport last week.
The passenger, who arrived on a flight from Barcelona had a stolen British Passport and was attempting to access Ireland/UK illegally.
Compounding this, the person had attempted to smuggle a counterfeit Bulgarian National ID card in the lining of their luggage.
The individual was found out by Immigration Detectives at Cork Airport who immediately deported the passenger.
It was also discovered that this person had previously been deported from another EU Country.
In a statement from Gardaí they said:
"The passenger was returned to Barcelona and was met by our Spanish Police colleagues on arrival.
"Detectives at Cork Airport scan all travel documents through Interpol databases to verify that they have not been reported stolen."
