Plans to deliver 20 new affordable homes in Kanturk have been approved by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage under an Affordable Housing Fund (AHF) application.

The scheme plans to deliver 20 affordable homes in Pulleen, Kanturk.

Cork North West Fine Gael TD John Paul O’Shea said the development represents a significant step towards providing more affordable housing options for local families and first time buyers in the Kanturk area.

"The delivery of 20 affordable homes would be a major boost for Kanturk, helping more people to own their own home at an affordable price, right here in their own community,” he said.

Mr O’Shea added that the proposed development in Kanturk forms part of a wider housing delivery programme by Cork County Council under the Government’s Housing for All strategy.

“Supporting towns like Kanturk through sustainable and affordable housing is a key government priority.

The Affordable Housing Fund (AHF) provides financial support to local authorities in terms of delivering affordable homes for purchase by eligible households.

Mr O’Shea added that the Pulleen development will contribute to meeting strong local demand for housing in North Cork.
