Douglas Farmer's Market to go ahead this Saturday, September 14

The announcement was made in a Facebook Post last night when the organisers confirmed the news that traders will set up in the green area between the cinema and McDonald’s.

The site is currently being prepped and tended to, with the old fence around the area being repaired and the grass cut.

All the usual traders are expected to be in attendance from the normal time of 10am until 2pm following a one-week hiatus.

Last week's Farmer's Market was due to go ahead as normal following the Douglas fire, but due to the precarious nature of Douglas Village Shopping Centre and the car park, safety reasons prohibited the market taking place.

It is not yet known when Douglas Shopping Centre will re-open but in the interim, Cork City Council has introduced one hour’s free parking in Douglas to support Douglas traders.

The on-street parking promotion will be available from Mondays to Saturdays (free parking is available on Sundays) throughout September.
