Despite growing up just a stone’s throw from one another, it wasn’t until 2018 that Cork couple Jennifer Luxford and Tommy Cotter met.

Jennifer, from Ballyphehane, and Tommy, from Greenmount, were attending Jennifer’s cousin Aimee’s 30th birthday at the City Bounds Bar when they first laid eyes on one another.

The couple got engaged in New York in 2023 and today live in Greenmount with their two children and their dog.

They were joined by family and friends as they tied the knot at the Talbot Hotel in Ballincollig recently.

“Janice O’Callaghan was our solemniser. She was fantastic,” said Jennifer.

The bride sourced her gown from Memories on Tuckey Street. “Carl was brilliant! I got all my alterations done in store by Kay; she even made me sleeves, which I loved,” the bride said.

Hair and make-up was by Ciara from Nic’s Pin Ups and Niamh O’Leary, while the tan was by Erica.

The groom’s suit was from Tony’s Menswear in Cork, while the groomsmen’s suits were from Suits Distributors.

The bridal flowers were by Tracey at Flowers4u.

The couple were supported on the day by Jennifer’s sister, and maid of honour Sarah, her best friends Samantha and Shauna, and cousins Ciara and Aimee, whose birthday first brought the couple together!

Tommy’s best friend Steve was his best man, while his groomsmen were Tommy’s brother Jason, cousin Liam, and friends Diarmuid and Ian.

After the ceremony, the couple held a reception for their 190 guests at the hotel, including Jennifer’s friend Sophie Harris who travelled all the way from Sydney, and Ali Bermingham and Thomas Crowe, who made their way from New York for the nuptuals.

“Tanusha looked after us. She was amazing. Nothing was too much of an ask. She couldn’t have done any more for us,” the couple said.

The wedding cake was by Ruari’s Kitchen. “It was beautiful and tasted as good as it looked.”

Music at the reception was by the Caroline Bailey band. “The dance floor was full all night! They were brill.”

The couple had high praise for Auntie Katie’s Babysitting, who helped out with minding their children, Ben (6) and Maisie (2). “We couldn’t recommend them enough.”

Photos on the day were by Bismark Photographer. “Sheenagh was brilliant, and our videographer Denis was fab. They were all so nice.”
