“IT was the most magical fairytale day, the best day of our lives.”
So said Siobhan and John Cronin, who were married at The Walter Raleigh Hotel in Youghal on August 26.
The couple feature in our Wedding of the Week.
The bride said: “This was my second marriage but John’s first and we are now a blended family to all grown up children and one amazing granddaughter and all played their parts in the wedding.”

Siobhan, nee Dennehy, is from Douglas, while John is from Mayfield, where the couple now live. They met on dating site Plenty of Fish and had their first date in the Cotton Ball in Mayfield.

They got engaged on September 11, 2020, in Ballyheigue in Co. Kerry.

The couple were married at The Walter Raleigh in a civil ceremony, followed by a reception.
The bride got her dress in Cinderella’s Closet in Cork, helped by Michelle. Alterations were by Katie Alterations in Ballincollig.
Suits were from Morley’s in Cork, while bridesmaid dresses were from Amazon and the Flower Girl dress was from The Princess Rooms in Cobh. The bride’s shoes, head piece, some jewellery and the flower girl’s shoes were from Wedding Belles in Castlemartyr.

Makeup was by Za Makeup, Youghal. Za’s son Ewan also took some pictures using his drone on the day. Hair was by Solo Hairdressers Youghal.
The flowers were done by Absolute Flowers in Youghal.
Addison Hughes, Siobhan’s granddaughter, was flower girl.
The groom’s party included best man, Mick Cronin, who is John’s brother, as well as groomsmen, Ian O’Dwyer, John Cronin, Dan Tucan, and Dylan Walsh (Siobhan’s son, who also gave her away.)

The bride said: “The ceremony was amazing, John cried which was so sweet and was very touching.”
The couple had their reception at The Walter Raleigh too. The band Sparkle performed at the ceremony and also that night. Their first dance was to Unchained Melody by the Righteous Brothers. The cake was by Graye’s Cakery, Dungarvan.
As to the most memorable moment...
“For John , it was seeing me in my dress. The most memorable part for me was seeing John crying and having our children and granddaughter be a big part of our day. Also my son giving me away,” said Siobhan.
The couple headed off to France to celebrate their honeymoon, touring around on their motorbike.
